UPM Adhesive Materials, formerly known as UPM Raflatac, announced the launch of a range of specialized solutions addressing key trends in logistics and durable goods. These, along with other new products, were presented at its stand (3D29) at the Labelexpo Europe fair, which took place in Barcelona from September 16 to 19. This event marked the debut of UPM Adhesive Materials under its renewed brand identity, reflecting its commitment to adhesive materials expertise, sustainability and helping customers renew everyday life with label material performance.
With printers and converters under increasing pressure to improve the performance and sustainability of their products, the latest label materials offerings showcase the company’s deep expertise in developing high-quality solutions for intended end uses that support these increasingly important goals.
New removable label material solution for logistics
One of the new solutions presented at the event was aimed at the growing logistics sector. As supply chains evolve to meet the growing demands of e-commerce, direct-to-store delivery and packaging waste reduction requirements, logistics packaging is undergoing a significant transformation.
More and more brands ship products in their original packaging, eliminating the need for outer packaging or repackaging. This change requires specialized label solutions that can operate throughout the journey.
To address this need, UPM Adhesive Materials is launching a new removable label material solution for logistics that provides fast and secure adhesion to a wide range of packaging materials. Removable logistics labels can be removed easily and cleanly, supporting circular packaging systems and improving the consumer experience. Its pull-out capability allows packages to be reshipped without replacing packaging, providing crucial cost and time efficiencies.
New selection of consumer durables products
UPM Acrylic Materials also launched a simple product selection guide tailored to the growing consumer durables segment. With rising energy costs and technological advances in modern appliances, demand for more efficient household items is increasing. Modern appliances carry multiple identification labels, energy ratings, promotion and QR codes, adding complexity due to varied application requirements. Consumer Durables’ new offering simplifies the decision-making process, providing clear product selection, flexible ordering options and improved sustainability, with solvent-free adhesives and PET PCR materials.
Experience in Carbon Action and recyclability
Carbon Action plastic label materials and UPM Adhesive Materials’ recyclability expertise were also highlighted at the fair. Through its Carbon Action solutions, customers can demonstrate measurable carbon footprint reduction of their label material, choose bio-based raw materials, and ensure compatibility with recycling. There were also interactive demonstrations of washable label technology on the stand for HDPE, glass and PET packaging, and UPM adhesive materials experts were on hand and guided visitors through circularity and decarbonization topics, especially how to navigate PPWR regulations and share ideas on designing for recyclability.

They were also able to explore MyRaflatac, their intuitive customer portal designed for seamless order management, product access and real-time support.
