Fusion-Tek The first microwaveable steel can

Now, with the help of your aerospace subsidiary, Ball Corp worked to develop the technology to make the first microwaveable steel can.  They join the plastic end to the steel can wall, in the way to get microwave energy into metal.

This regular steel food can does no heat in the microwave oven because the energy cannot pass through steel; the can it´s a fusion between steel and plastic end, and allows the energy going to heat the product inside the can in only 2 to 3 minutes.

Ball´s, the proprietary of the fusion-tek brand and their technology, uses a plastic end joined directly to the steel can wall. The end is made of a multilayer PP/EVOH/PP  a barrier plastic.
