Sensational solutions for publishers and print buyers
The information programme for the “drupa innovation parc presented by hp” has been finalised and promises to be one of drupa’s top highlights for printers, publishers and print buyers. In addition to the daily programme on the stage comprising numerous talks and presentations by dip exhibitors, the lineup will be dominated by the two daily talk shows. At 12pm on the dot, the Highnoon@dip talk show, conducted in English and hosted by industry expert Bernd Zipper – who is also responsible for staging dip on behalf of Messe Düsseldorf – will get underway. For its counterpart, 4@dip , which kicks off at 4pm, Hamburg-based media innovator Renate Spiering has been won as the moderator. “Our talk shows will get to grips with highly topical industry themes and present personalities, ideas and companies from the ‘drupa innovation parc presented by hp’,” explained Bernd Zipper. “Aside from technical innovations in publishing regarding such fields as Web to print and media asset management, new collaboration tools and much more, our focus will also be on the people, the movers behind the solutions,” continued Zipper. Every day from 10am to 5.30pm, the dip team will showcase the highlights of the drupa innovation parc on the main stage, which will be sponsored primarily by Océ but also Adobe Systems, Heidelberg and Kodak.

The hourly dip tours will provide visitors to the drupa innovation parc with an optimal overview of the many solutions big and small in Hall 7.0. The dip tours will leave from the meeting point in the foyer of Hall 7.0 and take visitors on a 20-minute foray into the “jungle of innovations”. “The aim is not to make product recommendations for every field but rather to help participants get their bearings as regards various topical thematic areas,” pointed out dip coordinator Bernd Zipper. “After completing one of the tours offered in English, German or Chinese, visitors can find their own way to the appropriate solution suppliers.” In addition to the tours that provide an overview, there will also be tours addressing specific themes such as Web to print, JDF, creative publishing, online solutions, workflows and document management. The tours are free of charge to all visitors who register in advance. Visitors can register directly at the dip tours stand in the foyer of Hall 7.0.
A general information round-up will be available to dip visitors in the form of the daily magazine, dip news, which will be produced live on site by print production partner Océ, as well as the dip guide – the special catalogue featuring all of the drupa 2008 dip partners. The latest news will also be published online daily at http://dip.drupa.de .

The drupa team is delighted with the success of dip: “We are thrilled with the incredible response received by dip. Over 130 companies from all corners of the planet will be participating in its second edition. This is a clear indication that, through this special offering under the drupa umbrella, we have tapped into the current information trend, and that this trend has been accepted by our partners in dip,” commented Manuel Mataré, drupa Project Director at Messe Düsseldorf. And it’s true that the “drupa innovation parc presented by hp” is certainly very impressive. Alongside the main sponsor, Hewlett-Packard, the dip showcase is also supported by Océ, Agfa, Adobe, Global Graphics, Alpha-Picture, Kuhnert, Compart, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen, SAP, Kodak and Rockwell Automation. More than 130 exhibitors from 24 countries, including not only leading industrial nations but also representatives from Romania and the island of Mauritius, will train the spotlight on their solutions for publishers around the world from 29 May to 11 June. Stephanie Schmitt, Director Marketing Services EMEA at Adobe Systems, is a big fan: “The drupa innovation parc gathers innovative young companies at a central location within drupa 2008. As the trade fair’s think-tank, it acts as an ideal forum for picking up on tomorrow’s industry trends. Adobe is a pacesetter when it comes to innovation, which is why we are committed to backing the dip concept. Especially as it also brings new target groups together with the established industry players.” This opinion is wholly shared by Wolfgang Boretius, owner of Web-to-print company trivet.net: “The tools for the next publishing revolution can be seen here at drupa in Hall 7.0. We are delighted to be part of it.”
