RPC Bramlage-Wiko has developed an innovative roll-on applicator for an exciting new skincare range from Garnier.

The Garnier UltraLift Pro-X range comprises two products: Re-Plumping Day Cream and Lifting Anti-Wrinkle Roll-On toning cream. Brand owner L’Oréal, a long-time partner of RPC Bramlage-Wiko, was keen to use the site’s best-selling Magic Star airless dispenser for the Re-Plumping Day Cream, and wanted the roll-on packaging to convey similar high standards of functionality and design for branding purposes.

RPC Bramlage-Wiko worked closely with L’Oréal to create a new packaging format that would successfully apply the toning cream to the face and neck. The chosen concept, inspired by massaging techniques, applies the cream via a massage roller-ball when gently rolled over the skin. The long, cylindrical base is ergonomically shaped to act like a handle. The unusual design and functionality presented a significant technical challenge that required manufacture using two technologies. The container is injection blow moulded in PP, while the cap and fitment are injection moulded. 

An important consideration was to replicate the look and feel of the injection moulded Magic Star dispenser. RPC Bramlage-Wiko was able to match the colour exactly despite the two containers being produced using different processes. Family branding is further encouraged by using the same combination of a white fitment and transparent overcap across both products.  The roll-on cap is hot stamped with a silver ring for added visual distinction, and both containers are labelled by L’Oréal with product information.
