The ability of RPC to provide attractive and convenient plastic bowl solutions for fresh fruit has been recognised by the European HQ of food manufacturer Chiquita.Chiquita’s Snacks & Desserts division has recently launched a range of four fresh fruit mixes into Belgium and The Netherlands. In an additional joint project with McDonald’s Netherlands, Chiquita is supplying two other seasonal fruit mixes exclusively into McDonald’s to provide a healthy dessert option for kids’ Happy Meals or healthy snack for other consumers, with potential roll-outs to Germany and France should the range prove popular with consumers.
Chiquita needed a robust packaging solution that would show off the fresh produce to its best advantage, while also conveying an attractive brand image. RPC’s reputation in the fruit market made it the ideal choice, for its ability to combine a convenient pot format with extensive decorative options and fast response times to meet the anticipated demand.
The 180 cc container, thermoformed in PP, offers a wide 76 mm diameter to enable ease of consumption direct from the bowl. This ‘on the go’ aspect has been enhanced by a lid featuring an integral fork, supplied by Auslid.
Each bowl is clear so that consumers can see the product contents, and then printed in up to six-colours to show off Chiquita’s eye-catching graphics. The Happy Meal variety has been printed with an image of the Ronald McDonald clown character to underline McDonalds’ branding.
